Well if you have lived around here and are familiar with Seafair, you know that the Blue Angels are in town!! So the coach and I planned a trip down to the Museum of Flight to check them out, see the museum and goof off. We got down there fairly early, but the weather was less than desirable (I can't complain to loudly as we really need the rain, but today?)
We watched the ground crew prep and test the aircraft, which included starting the engines and running them for a few minutes, testing the control surfaces, show smoke and so on. Even though it was raining, it was fun to watch.
After that we headed in to check out the museum as it was opening for the day and the "Blues" were not schedule to take off until 11:30am for the first practice session of the day.
After a bit in the museum I split off to head back outside to watch the "Blues" take off. It was raining a bit harder now, but this is Seattle, it's been known to do that here every once in a while. To make a long story short ... they cancelled their flights today due to the weather that would be come severe (for here at least).
After heading home ... after having lunch .... after changing into dry clothes ... it decided it was going to rain .... and boy did it rain! It got so heavy that I had to take pictures of the huge volumes of water that were falling from the sky ... and the huge volumes of water that were running down the street ... at one point when I took this image it seemed like there was 1/2" of water on the road, and even more running along the sides.
