New Month...

... New Images!

Went to the house today, All the interior walls have been framed in, all the backfilling has been completed. The load bearing walls in the basement are framed and sheathed. .... ummm.... real close to having stairs connecting the two levels. I hear trusses are due to arrive next week.

Downer Debbie says: Was there a lot of backfilling done around your trees? If there was, you might want to check the soil depth around the roots. If it's too deep, the roots are forced to grow upwards to find oxygen and nutrients, and as the tree increases in size the roots can girdle it and kill it over time.

Hey Sarah, not to worry--there was no backfilling around trees. :-) Nothing was disturbed inside the drip line, and the house was placed so as not to disturb them. In fact, we're sending rainwater from the roof that would be diverted by construction of the house to a french drain uphill from the large cedar closest to the house (near the kitchen), so hopefully it won't notice any change.
