A blast from my past ...

I was digging around some boxes and came accross this gem. It is a letter of recommendation from one of my previous employers (see extended for complete text).

It says...

To whom it may concern:

My recommendation of Tim _______ is best told with this story.

I was on tour with my band Widowmaker. Opening for us on the first leg of the tour was a band called Wicked Mariah. The tour manager/sound man working for us wasn't doing the job. The sorest point of all, was each night, when we played live, the opening band sounded way better than we did. Why was that? Their tour manager/sound man was Tim _______. Not only was he doing a killer job for Wicked Mariah, but he was a great guy to deal with and had positive energy that added to the whole tour, not just his own band.

Well, Wicked Mariah, was in thier last week with us and we couldn't stand our tour manager anymore so, we approached Tim about working for us once his gig with Wicked Mariah was up. Tim said, "Sure!" When we broke th news to our tour manager, he wanted to leave immediately (what a surprise) and we were going to be screwed. Then Tim said, "I'll tour manage and do sound for both bands." "Really?” I said. "Sure!", Tim replied. And he did just that ... PERFECTLY!

Tim _______ is an asset to any tour, PERIOD! I will definitely use him in the future; you should use him now. He is a team player who carries his own weight and then some. Organized, focused and upbeat, he is the kind of guy a band needs on the road. Oh yeah, management loved him too.

TIM _______ DOES THE WHOLE JOB, WELL. HIRE HIM AN DYOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

Sincerely,
Dee Snider

P.S.: Did I mention he would eat all the fattening foods that I couldn't for me and relate the taste sensations in detail so, I could enjoy it vicariously through him? Like I said, Tim _______ does it all!
