A New Homer

I have not done so well with the whole fish thing - The two Cardinals have "moved" on. We're not sure why, but the water quality in my tank is excellent, it could be that the tank was not grounded properly - but we'll never know for sure. So I got those issues corrected and sorta accidently came home with this --

This is a Royal Basslet or a Fairy Basslet (or better known as a Gramma Loreto). It's colors are very spectacular to see.

Life After Open Houses

We lived through it!!! Sunday we had an open house for local magazine. Our house was select the House of the Month for March, so besides being featured in the magazine, there was an open house.

So Sunday morning around 11:30am we had an official waiting line of people! When it was done, approximately 275 people walked through our house, admiring the colors and choices we made. Some didn't understand the choices we made (and you know what, I didn't kick you out! AND I don't care 'cuz WE'RE LIVING HERE and we LIKE IT!).

There was much preparation, our architect was generous and hired a "green" cleaning crew to come in and give the house a good once over. In addition to my futzing that lasted 3 days!

All in all it was a great success, kind of weird to watch, but glad I did! Sorry I was taken in by the event and did not get any images, but images the house full of people for 3 hours straight.

If anyone that walked through is reading this - Thanks for coming!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day

Look who moved in today!

As some of you know I have been working on setting up a saltwater environment in our living room. Not a big one, as it is my very first time venturing down this road, but big enough.

Some of the numbers. It is a 30 gallon tank. There is approximately 25 lbs of live (cultured) rock in it. Super duper water filter, water spray bar (to add water movement), a heater, a cool light (that when turned off has "moon light").

So who moved in? Well two Banggai Cardinals and a species of Blenny (I think it was a red tailed blenny).

In the center of this image is a blenny just about to back into a hole in the rock (that's where is hangs out in a matter of speaking

Seaside Oregon

By the title of this you would know that I am in Seaside Oregon for a couple of days. I am down here at a trades show, manning a both for my employer.

During one of the extended break we went to the Seaside Aquarium where you can feed the seals! Which is what we did!

All the seals had very different personalities and antics to get you (the dumb human) to toss them the peice of chopped fish to them. Very funny, except for the bastard that splashes you! Images to added later ....

Guess who this is -
