- WTF? -
This is Sly Stone performing a "reunion" show on the Grammy's last night - He's 61 (or 65). The song was interesting, putting it mildly

No words can describe the disappointment. The Seahawks went to the Super Bowl, but you know what - 30 other teams did not. This is a great accomplishment!

Sadly, the worst part is the poor officiating that we witnessed, made even worse by it becoming a national topic (see the extended entry). All and all - I am damn proud of MY Seattle Seahawks, and I will continue to support them. Next year - Miami, Super Bowl XLI, Hawks WIN!
GO HAWKS!

"What crime-ridden, boarded-building, automotive-industry-ravaged, snowy Detroit couldn’t do, an NFL officiating crew pulled off with relative ease in front of plenty of bored-silly football fans inside beautiful Ford Field."

"Well, the Steelers can call it even now, as the officials who performed well enough throughout the season to earn the privilege of working Super Bowl XL performed Sunday as though they were trying to make it up to the Steelers by giving them the game -- not just any game, but the biggest game."

"This is what it has come to: Announcers comparing the bad calls happening before them to the bad calls from earlier rounds of the playoffs. Is this really what the NFL wants?"

"Looks like it wasn’t only the home crowd that was pro-Steelers at Ford Field."

Twas the night before the Super Bowl XL and all through Seattle Not a creature was stirring, cause we were thinking ‘bout touchdowns.
The stores were all quiet and we had our plans made tonight before falling asleep, Seahawks fans will have prayed.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds While visions of touchdowns danced in their heads.
Mamma in the kitchen and Dad in his chair Were all excited as they started to prepare.
When on the news they watched with a grin as newscasters predicted just who would win.
Away to their bedroom they start to go they can’t wait till Sunday when it’s time for the show.
The Seahawks meet curfew and try to fall asleep Nothing seems to work, not even counting sheep.
When what to everyone’s wondering minds should appear but a “preview” of the Super Bowl that is crystal clear!
With quarterback Matt so lively and quick you could see in a moment that he was very slick.
More rapid than eagles his offensive team came and he called out his plays and we started the game.
Now Alexander! Now Bobby! Now Morris and Jackson on Warrick! On Strong! On Stevens and Mili!
To the top of the first quarter and to the top of the next now catch that ball…catch that ball and keep them perplexed.
As in so many games we have watched all year long so we had to endure plays that seemed to go wrong.
And then in a twinkling we heard the ref’s call and suddenly on the field there started a brawl!
A face masked was grabbed and a rough late hit so now we had to find a play where we could outwit.
He was dressed in his colors and wore number 37 and what the fans witnessed then had them all transfixed.
A huddle of Seahawks gathered ‘round Matt and all the fans said a prayer that ended with Amen.
Shaun’s eyes how they twinkled, his muscles how large He had them believing that he was taking charge.
His great big smile was gleaming white and the Steelers all grew very uptight.
His mouthpiece he held tight in his teeth and the fans waved their #12 towels around like a wreath.
He had a plan and he was ready to go Matt dropped back and was ready to throw.
They were tackling and blocking this fine football team and our “preview” revealed a score supreme!
With a surprise play that had Pittsburgh confused we pulled off a touchdown that made them lose.
The Steelers spoke not a word but went straight to their Match and all of their mouths were seen tightly clenched.
The Seahawks stood raising their arms up high we feel they were giving praise to God and to you and I.
Our “preview” of the Super Bowl made us whistle and it soon will really be over as fast as a missile.
But I heard if you sleep well on Super Bowl Eve You’ll have no fears at all and we won’t have to grieve.
GO HAWKS!
Last night (this morning) a huge storm rolled into the region, high winds and rain. At one point (around 2 AM) it rained harder than I have ever witnessed in my life - it was so hard that it made the house rumble. Of course with high winds, we ended up with out power for several hours (7 hours and 46 minutes to be exact)
