Well I went exploring up to the airfield on Friday to see what I could find ... I found the two old war birds sitting there in their absolute glory. The B-24J Liberator (the only one still flying in the U.S.) and the Boeing built B-17G Flying Fortress (one of only 14 still flying in the U.S). These aircraft are part of The Colling Foundation (there is a link below in the previous post), a non-profit "founded in 1979. The purpose of the Foundation is to organize and support "living history" events that enable Americans to learn more about their heritage through direct participation".

Sometimes you just have to look up! Earlier I heard a plane of not normal sounds flying by ... I looked up to Find this .....
Apparently there is a B-17 and this B-24 in town (on tour of the U.S.) and for a mere $400.00 (tax deductible donation) you too can get a 30 minute ride. OH HOW I WOULD LOVE TO DO THIS .... but ... we are trying to build a house and this kind of spending would not be smart (are you proud of me Mrs. H?).
