Day 1 - As Promised

Today started off at 4-something-AM and sending Mrs. H off in a car to the airport. She'll be back soon. Then a couple of hours later Bobbin awoke and our day started! First it was getting dressed/breakfast/thorough questioning - "Where's Mommy?".

[I can't figure out how to get a Flickr image to populate this space - arrgghhh]

Then it was off to get some coffee and to soccer. She did great! She ran super hard for me today. Then it was lunch and "quiet time". After quiet time we went on an adventure ... we went to check out The Cougar Mountain Zoological Park. Here are a few snaps from today.

img_1179_std.jpg

I have to say this now ... YES there are live animals at this Zoo, Cougars, Deer, Tigers, Lemurs and so on ... but we had more fun touching the Bronze Statues :-)

Sometimes it's right in front of you ...

The other night H and I were watching a repeat on SNL on the channel or something. It was the one with Britney Spears as a guest host/singer. It was pretty funny. Then it was time for Britney's performance ... wait a minute, what's up with that graphic???

Catching up

Well time to do a little catch up. Happy 4th of July everyone! I did my usual gig at Gas Work this year with minor problems (If you call a majopr soaking of electronic equipment minor). A little sunburn.

I helped a friend out and worked at Qwest stadium on Boeings 787 rollout.

Took my daughter to her first parade (there were no marching bands though).

BBQ-ed a couple of times.

I throw some images up here soon, like I said, been busy living.

I heard someone run in the other end of the house ...
...thud - thud - thud - thud...
CRASH .... SMASH .... CRASH ....

By the time I got to the kitchen I saw my husband running faster than I have ever seen him run ever! - with the fire extinguisher.

and saw the riding lawn mower on fire.

Guess who I ran into ...

It's funny who I ran into at the market today ... We chatted about the climate of his former industry, where they went, where they could go and so on. I told him I had always liked his honesty, although I am sure it got him in some hot water now and again.

He had some banannas, some fish, and some other relatively healthy items in his basket. Me? I had some tri-tip steak, OJ, fresh fruit, some frozen veggies and a brand new ice cream scoop (ours broke in half).

Today I ran into #99 formerly of the Seahawks, WSU grad ... really nice guy ...

Bad blogger ...

Well - Sorry I haven't been active, been a bit busy with the baby, with work, and with settling in here at the Dream House! It's pretty exciting around here - hot air ballons cruise by all the time. That's one there in the distance.

We are also on the frequent dining schedule of the deer - the mother and the baby (it just lost its spots) come by to eat, rest and wander around. I have seem them at all hours day and night - IT'S very COOL.

Where have you been?

Boy has it been a busy busy busy few days - First off, some house keeping, Happy Canada Day to my family and friends north of the 49. Secondly I just have to comment on Live 8 - MTV, shame on you fro your horrible coverage!

My favorite part was the Pink Floyd set, it was absolutely fantastic to see them together again after 24 years. I thought it was incredible the mention of Syd, how appropriate.

Roger said, "It's actually quite emotional, standing up here with these three guys after all these years. Standing to be counted with the rest of you. Anyway, we're doing this for everyone who's not here, particularly, of course for Syd."

My office!

On our Independance Day I was working - huh? OH I was down at Lake Union with a huge sound system and 65,000+ of my closest friends. This show is the one of the top three (I believe).

Stuff happening all over

Well today I check after our second day of baby classes - we got the "so your having a baby" class, and today was part 1 of 2 on "how to have that baby" - there were a few moments in the class where all the women looked very concerned (everyone in this class was carry thier first baby) - during those moments, all of us guys looked terrified. Did I mention this was a 4 hour session?

Spicey and H sharing a moment!

After the class we drove out to the house (only 4 miles away from the hospital). Lots or progress (you can see HERE), The fridge was delivered and installed, the cabinets are installed, the slate tile is in and grouted! AND there is even one light installed.

Last night we hosted the gang for Bar-B-Que'd burgers and watched a movie ... ummm ... please note I BBQ-ed in the rain.

Is it quiet in here???

Man it got real quiet around here after I put the Mrs on a airplane to France. She is on a business trip to Cannes for a tradeshow and will be home next Saturday.

In the mean time it is just us (the doggies and the kitties) hanging out. We have plenty to do, and hopefully when the rain stops we can get some yard work done (or not).

It's Friday Nite ...

Sporty Rich was reading the Stranger personals to us tonight. While reading a 'Girl Seeks Boy' ad, Richy reads a part that says "Must have 'S.O.H.'..." and the conversation goes something like this ....

R: What is SOH? It says "must have S.O.H."...
Me: Set Of Hooters ...
R: Why would a girl seeking a boy want that?
Me: huh?
R: It's a girl looking for a boy ...
Me: ... OH! Sense of Humor.

The weather has been good ....

No? Well it has here! The last few days have been down right pleasant, the bad part of that is - we have no snow pack and will probably be pretty dry this summer - or worse yet this spring. The weather talking heads say that the freezing level is dropping and that moister is on it's way - but until that really happens, it is only a guess err... forecast.

Other news - Mrs. H (mommy to be) is doing well and is very happy to have registered at 'Babies-R-Us', and I have to admit I had fun doing this too! If your interested you find our list HERE.

Our house is making progress - the electricians are doing their thing, the heating and ventilation guys are doing their things. The siding is going to start very soon. and cabinets are "in progress". All in all nothing major has changed - but stuff is a happening! You can see new images HERE.

Well that's about all I have to say for now ....

I apologize for not posting updates regularly, first off the big news this week is that the first exterior wall was rasied on our house yesterday, you can see that HERE.

AS you can imagine this is a huge milestone in this project.

Secondly, you'll notice that I have posted nothing concerning "My beloved Seahawks" ... there is a reason for that .... I will not get into that right now. Well, I have finished up my OJ and I am on my way to the property to do some work .....

What a morning...

As I sat around waiting for an 'important' telephone call I found my self surfing the web ... more exact ... surfing random blogs ("blurf-ing"?) out there. During the "window" for the scheduled phone call I learned that ...

Britney is working even harder on that reputation to be the "Queen of All White Trash Sluts"!

That Bats need homes too

And that you really need to BE CAREFUL of what you are doing at all times now.

Then my call came in. That whole ordeal took 35 minutes. 35 minutes to convey what a bad situation I was in and why it was better to leave "voluntarily" than to wait and see "where the cards may land".

On a lighter note ... we are ever slowly inching towards breaking ground for our house project. We are both getting very very antsy at the lack of "things happening", even though things are happening (we just can't see them clearly).

I also want to add that I have been doing some web page "house-keeping" and updated these pages ....

Heather - Heather and Tim - The Kitties

I posted some newer up-to-date images ... I will be getting the pooches up-to-date very soon ... until then you'll haveto be happy with what I have done so far.

Have a great rest of your day ....

The Day After

We lived through the barrage of the night.... Well most of us did, we actually had to give TOMMY tranquilizers to get him through the day. It was an absolutely beautiful day here with is rare (something like the weather is less than perfect 75% of the time here). We had a few friends (Chris & Deb, plus a little bit of 'Sporty Spice') over for a very low key get-together and Bar-B-Que'd some burgers and dogs.

This wonderful weather resulted in quit a large amount of fireworks being displayed ...

IT WAS A LOUD NIGHT!

Here we are having some "Safe and Sane" fun with sparklers ...

What an adventure ....

Today I had the pleasure to have been able to accompany my best friend to the "Fire Training Center" and witness him (and his co-workers) train and get re-certified. All I can say is WOW!!! I was at my closest maybe 200 yards away and the fires were HUGE! and HOT! All of this was way cool to watch in a controlled environment.

This is just the beginning of a "burn". Note that the firemen in the images are about 30 feet away from the flames.

In this one they are much closer and actively putting the flames out.

I took over a hundred images and you can see them HERE.

Thanks Chris for inviting me ...

My Second week ....

Well this is my second Monday of not getting up and dragging my sorry rear to the place I was beginning to loath. In the past week I have work on the gardens, cleaned stuff, power washed stuff, walk the doggies, napped. Today .. I might be a little bored ... but I am not sure. I'm also not sure that is a bad thing (I'll let you know).

Got word from our renter that he is completely moved out, now we have an abandoned vehicle ... this of course can be donated after we get through the red tape of declaring it abandoned and clearing the title.

This Monday update has been brought to you by ME and only ME.

Today is a begining

Today is a beginning to a new chapter in my life. It became very apparent that my wonderful employers were up to something and I felt that my career there was in jeopardy. After many discussions with Mrs. H, we had decided that it was time to leave the company to pursue new adventures. Which I did, Friday was my last day at the "Evil Empire" (as some of my friends call it).

This morning I got to sleep in (which really means I didn't have the alarm clock set). I am feeling a little weird in the way that I have no "purpose" (which is not true I have much purpose) ....

Anyways ... I have lots of little house projects (I'll include images at some point) that I have been meaning to do that I now can do (yay). As well as a new routine that we started (we = me and the doggies) ... our new routine ... a morning walk!

Lots Happening .... But I'm not talking

Well there is a lot happening in my life right now from the beginnings of building a house to summer rolling in to other things that I am not gonna tell you yet. We found out that we will be able to build our house, which as some of you may have known was not perilously in danger of not happening, but on shaky ground. I will have links up at some point for of end goal.

Today I received my "golden watch"!! Where I work they give you a personalized desk clock on your 5 year anniversary (technically it is the end of July, but I am not going to make a big deal). I can say the last 5 years have been a very interesting ride, with many ups and a few downs.

Getting A New Frontyard

Our friend Mr. Chris recommended a landscaper guy to use. Well, we had him come out to give us an estimate and was very pleased by how fair it was and hired him to re-do our front yard. Our front yard was a bit of grass, and a bit of an obnoxious ground cover, and some Holly trees, and just a poorly thought out "low maintenance" design (and it was ugly).

So Landscaper dude told me he was going to start this past Saturday, but it rained all day so I really wasn't too surprised he didn't show up. I was very surprised that he showed up around 2:30pm on Sunday! They started clearing old ugly plants, and weeds and that ugly ground cover. By the end of the day yesterday I had a front yard of dirt.... No weeds, just dirt ....No ugly ground cover ... JUST DIRT!

I will post images up later of the progress being made. I am REAL curious what it is going to look like today.

As promised, the images are HERE
