New views in my life

Last week I started a new situation operating the sound at a large sporting stadium nearby. Last week the attendance was 70,045, this past Saturday it was 74,927!!! (3rd largest attendance at this stadium ever!). It always impresses my how loud crowds of fanatical fans can get - WOW.

Here are some images to scope out ...

Owned!

We love it when the Arizona Cardinals roll into town ... that means Kurt Warner is here to get pounded - AND pounded is what the Hawks did yesterday. Final score - Seahawks WIN.... err I mean 21 - 10. So far, undefeated on the season.

This is only 3 of the 5 sacks ... Good seein' ya again Kurt!

The Day After

No words can describe the disappointment. The Seahawks went to the Super Bowl, but you know what - 30 other teams did not. This is a great accomplishment!

Mondays Papers

Sadly, the worst part is the poor officiating that we witnessed, made even worse by it becoming a national topic (see the extended entry). All and all - I am damn proud of MY Seattle Seahawks, and I will continue to support them. Next year - Miami, Super Bowl XLI, Hawks WIN!

GO HAWKS!

Kansas City Star
"What crime-ridden, boarded-building, automotive-industry-ravaged, snowy Detroit couldn’t do, an NFL officiating crew pulled off with relative ease in front of plenty of bored-silly football fans inside beautiful Ford Field."

Washington Post
"And when Seattle wasn't bungling, the referees were."

ESPN
"Well, the Steelers can call it even now, as the officials who performed well enough throughout the season to earn the privilege of working Super Bowl XL performed Sunday as though they were trying to make it up to the Steelers by giving them the game -- not just any game, but the biggest game."

Fox Sports
"This is what it has come to: Announcers comparing the bad calls happening before them to the bad calls from earlier rounds of the playoffs. Is this really what the NFL wants?"

Boston Sports.net
"Looks like it wasn’t only the home crowd that was pro-Steelers at Ford Field."

The Day is Here

Super Bowl XL.jpg

Posted by Timothy at 1:00 AM

February 4, 2006

'Twas the night before the Super Bowl

Twas the night before the Super Bowl XL and all through Seattle Not a creature was stirring, cause we were thinking ‘bout touchdowns.

The stores were all quiet and we had our plans made tonight before falling asleep, Seahawks fans will have prayed.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds While visions of touchdowns danced in their heads.

Mamma in the kitchen and Dad in his chair Were all excited as they started to prepare.

When on the news they watched with a grin as newscasters predicted just who would win.

Away to their bedroom they start to go they can’t wait till Sunday when it’s time for the show.

The Seahawks meet curfew and try to fall asleep Nothing seems to work, not even counting sheep.

When what to everyone’s wondering minds should appear but a “preview” of the Super Bowl that is crystal clear!

With quarterback Matt so lively and quick you could see in a moment that he was very slick.

More rapid than eagles his offensive team came and he called out his plays and we started the game.

Now Alexander! Now Bobby! Now Morris and Jackson on Warrick! On Strong! On Stevens and Mili!

To the top of the first quarter and to the top of the next now catch that ball…catch that ball and keep them perplexed.

As in so many games we have watched all year long so we had to endure plays that seemed to go wrong.

And then in a twinkling we heard the ref’s call and suddenly on the field there started a brawl!

A face masked was grabbed and a rough late hit so now we had to find a play where we could outwit.

He was dressed in his colors and wore number 37 and what the fans witnessed then had them all transfixed.

A huddle of Seahawks gathered ‘round Matt and all the fans said a prayer that ended with Amen.

Shaun’s eyes how they twinkled, his muscles how large He had them believing that he was taking charge.

His great big smile was gleaming white and the Steelers all grew very uptight.

His mouthpiece he held tight in his teeth and the fans waved their #12 towels around like a wreath.

He had a plan and he was ready to go Matt dropped back and was ready to throw.

They were tackling and blocking this fine football team and our “preview” revealed a score supreme!

With a surprise play that had Pittsburgh confused we pulled off a touchdown that made them lose.

The Steelers spoke not a word but went straight to their Match and all of their mouths were seen tightly clenched.

The Seahawks stood raising their arms up high we feel they were giving praise to God and to you and I.

Our “preview” of the Super Bowl made us whistle and it soon will really be over as fast as a missile.

But I heard if you sleep well on Super Bowl Eve You’ll have no fears at all and we won’t have to grieve.

GO HAWKS!

HAWKS WIN!!!!

Again!

That's 10 in a row folks ... The Seahawk's are marching to "40" one game at a time! The Colts lost today so next week will be VERY interesting, a Hawk win would have them tied with the best record in the NFL, in other words, if the Hawks beat the Colts ... they both will have a record of 13 - 2. Things are getting interesting around here!

GO HAKWS!

Another day in paradise

The starting lineups

Just another exciting summers day in the northwest.... well not really because it was FRICKIN' HOT!!!! I think the record temp her today was 95+, which for here is very warm, but that?s what we are acclimatized to (pal). Mrs. H and I went the "Champions World" exhibition match at Seahawk Stadium errr... Qwest Field. Here is some images ...

This is a pretty tough game to play

Before the game Mrs H and I went to the Environmental Home Center to do some continued homework for the house project. Our home work was to check out counter top materials, cabinet materials and flooring (both tile and hardwoods). A very smart and friendly woman named Melinda helped us out and was expecting us. We came to the conclusion that we will most likely choose madrone for the floors and fir for the cabinets.

Leaving the game Mrs. H and I were walking to the car and this conversation happened (word for word). It went ?..

me- ?Hey look, there?s a spotty dog? (referring to a Dalmatian seen in the back seat of a passing car)
she- ?It would be hottier if it was all one great big black spot?
me- ?Hottier???...?

Then we saw the parking garage employee changing the sign for parking ... for the first event it was $20.00 . Earlier I said to Mrs. H ..."I bet they lower the price for the Mariner's game..." SURE ENOUGH, they lowered the price to $15.00, so I asked the employee, "hey, if I stay for the Mariner's game can I get $5.00 back?", smuggly the response was "NO"

After the game we went to a lighting store in Kirkland and receive less than stellar customer service (just because my hair is long is no reason to ignore me) ? I CAN tell you that I will not spend my cash there <PERIOD>. We left there and went to a fireplace shop (hard to grasp that one in 90+ temps!) to check out fireplaces that we liked ? after being another bad service experience, this time being talked to like we were stupid and frankly that offended me ? What happen to the days were customers were treated with a bit oif respect???

So after that I decided we needed to hydrate (did I mention it is HOT here?) ? we went into a small coffee shop to grab some ?waters? and they had soft server ice cream so we got ice cream cones ? another customer service disaster ?.

And to top it off ? what gives you the right to flip me off when your driving so poorly that I have to honk at you??? If your getting honked at regularly ? it might be time to GET THE HELL OFF THE ROAD AND TURN IN YOUR DIRVERS LICENSE (since Mrs. H refuses to let me T-Bone your stoooopid ass).

Today?s highlights do NOT include:
? Soft Serve Ice Cream
? Lights
? Fireplaces
? Dumb young adults operating motor vehicles
