Today Mrs. H's father took us to (as the title indicates) the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum located in Hamilton Ontario.

This is a great little musuem that sports some very cool aircraft and history that surrounds them. The star is an Avro Lancaster (the bomber made famous for dam busting in WWII).

...sort of .... Well it snowed around a foot during the night, then it turned to freezing rain this morning, and then, into ice pellets, and then back to snow! The trees are covered in a coating of ice and the ground is still all white in the fresh blanket of snow.
Mrs. H snuck this shot of me shoveling snow last night....

Looking out back at the snow faling .... note the trees are encased in ice....

It started to snow this afternoon ... so far there is about 1" to 2" on the ground. More is exepcted (not sure how much more ...nor am I worried about it as I have a pair of 'Aggression's')
Last night heather's father was so kind in taking us to the local hockey game. We went and saw the Simcoe Storm, they are an Ontario Hockey Association, Niagra Junior "C" Hockey League.
The Storm played the Woodstock NavyVets (not sure if that's one word or two), anyways, it was a blowout ... the final score for the Storm's victory was 9-0! Which (goes without saying) resulted in some short tempers!
Fighting is strictly prohibited and results in immediately being thrown out of the game. In one fight we wintnessed, each player undid the others face mask and helmet (hehehehe) and still I can only giggle about it (although it was kind of a nasty fight filght). I am not really sure if I will ever be able to imagine that incident ever again with out giggling!!
What a night! Today I wemnt out and bought a proper pair of winterboots... I got a pair of Kodiak Aggressions. These boots are rated to go down to -25F (-32C), which is important being that today it was -15C or so and last night walking home from the game is was close to -20C!! My trusty Nikes do not cut it in that kind of cold.

Here is the spec sheet for these babies!
Well ... thats it for today .... look for more later!
I realize these boots are named "Aggression" and I promise to you (and you know who you are) that I will not wear these while driving, ever!
The neat thing about here during this time of year is how they decorate up the park in a Christmas Theme every year... there are a lot of lights and decorations to look at and the kids love it. It is ever more beautiful when there is a blanket of snow on the ground.
There is a small river (or is it a large stream?) that flows through it (right now it is half frozen).

My baggage has come home to me! A little beat-up, but it is home.... Thank you Air Canada
More importantly I have my stuff :-)
Well we had a wonderful trip away from here, away from computers, away from computer geeks and bad traffic! The weather in Ottawa was wonderful the entire time there until our departure day when we woke up to rain. Mrs. H participated in the 1/2 Inline Marathon with her SISTER.
We went site seeing around Ottawa (Canada's National Capital) and took a few IMAGES.
Our last leg was on a small plane (Dash 8) from Vancouver B.C. to Seattle, this plane holds a max of 37 people. Note to self when the captain comes on the the address system and says "...We are just doing some final calculations for weight...", THIS means they are taking YOUR baggage off the plane, but they are sneaky about it and do so in such a manner that no one sees this. So yes you can guess it I was the last man at baggage claim for our flight, just like being stood up for a date :-(
The phone number for Air Canada baggage claims is either busy, or after hours. I still don't have my one small suit case ....
We had a very long day of traveling home but we were greatly surprised to see our from yard was completed!!! See the yard HERE
It was absolutely great to see Mrs. H's sister and to get away from here ....
UGGHHH .... back to reality tomorrow
Well Mrs. H and myself are off to Ottawa for the long weekend to spend it with Mrs. H's sister. SO I will not be posting anything between now .. and when we return. Have a great long weekend!
I did a quick Google search for you, if you are interested, you can find it HERE
