New views in my life

Last week I started a new situation operating the sound at a large sporting stadium nearby. Last week the attendance was 70,045, this past Saturday it was 74,927!!! (3rd largest attendance at this stadium ever!). It always impresses my how loud crowds of fanatical fans can get - WOW.

Here are some images to scope out ...

NOISE!!!

Too Much Red

Watch out boy she'll tear you up ...

Just got home from a super tiny road trip - We did some work with Hall and Oates in Seattle and in Portland. Great crew, great band, great show.

Sad day ....

Today we proceeded to finish up what mother nature started back in December. I had the rest of the two remaining trees brought down. 70+ years old , but in our (I mean man) defense, these trees were now unsafe and within damaging distance of our house.

AS some of you may know, I was really troubled on the correct thing to do. These are cedar trees, not good for firewood, but good red cedar demands a pretty good penny these days. I searched out for some logging assistance and all the answers equated that I might break even. NO GOOD. I am not into being on the end of a loosing deal while someone else gets rich.

Then I heard of a suggestion of a portable onsite sawmill, or a "WoodMizer". So after many calls and pretty much everyone telling me "Heavy Machinery", I found Wes. He is a "Horse Logger", which means he uses (literally and pardon the pun) horse power to move the logs.

Today he cut down the trees and on Wednesday he is bringing the horses out and will start milling the wood up (I'll update then). For the money I am/will be spending, I should have a pile of cedar 4"x4" posts for a fraction of the cost that a lumber yard would charge me.

YAY!

Seaside Oregon

By the title of this you would know that I am in Seaside Oregon for a couple of days. I am down here at a trades show, manning a both for my employer.

During one of the extended break we went to the Seaside Aquarium where you can feed the seals! Which is what we did!

All the seals had very different personalities and antics to get you (the dumb human) to toss them the peice of chopped fish to them. Very funny, except for the bastard that splashes you! Images to added later ....

Guess who this is -

EndFest 13???

It's hard to believe that The End has been around long enough to have had 13 "EndFest's" ... what is that you ask. Its the local alternative radio station concert event of the year where they bring in a bunch of bands that represent the genre appropriately and have music all day. This year the bands were Metric, Muse, Psychedelic Furs, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, X, Violent Femmes, Franz Ferdinand, Echo & The Bunnymen, and last but not least The Presidents of the United States!

It is most notable because Mrs. H came to the show and it was really the first time she has seen the "other" me as some would say. The musical highlights of the night were, X, the Violent Femmes and without any doubt The Presidents of the United States. I could go on and on about these 3 guys, how they are (in my mind) the most un pretentious band I have ever worked with.

I was able to take a bunch of images you can see them HERE

Farm Aid

In today’s adventures I found myself down at Farm Aid 2004. I only worked on the small beer garden stage (sorry no photos ... I was a little busy). But I was able to catch some of the press conference (we did the audio for that as well).

Here are a few images of the day
